SUMMARY:ADRA European Convergence Summit 2024
DESCRIPTION:Programme in detail\n\n\n\n\n\n\nRICAIP is deligted to be part of the European Convergence Summit (ECS) 2024! Join us at the event\, visit our virtual booth and do not miss our pitching session!ECS2024 is organised by the Adra-e project and stands for a high-level event that aims to bring together influential figures from various backgrounds to support co-programming of the Artificial Intelligence\, Data and Robotics (ADR) partnership\, define orientations for ADR research and innovation in Europe with respect to socioeconomic issues\, and build a consensus among stakeholders. \n\n\n\nThis year’s ECS2024 summit will provide a comprehensive platform for discussing the transformative impact of AI\, Data\, and Robotics on energy efficiency and CO2 reduction. \n\n\n\n\n\nThe event will be organised purelly online using the Confiva platform. \n\n\n\nBy participating\, participants will have the opportunity to: \n\n\n\n\nEngage with top-tier experts in the field\n\n\n\nExplore successful case studies and innovative projects\n\n\n\nNetwork with peers and industry leaders\n\n\n\nContribute to shaping the future of ADR technologies in Europe\n\n\n\n\nWe look forward to RICIAP participation and are excited to see the innovative ideas and collaborations that will emerge from this summit. Let’s converge to innovate and lead the way in AI\, Data\, and Robotics. \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\nRICAIP will be presented in several ways\, in particular: \n\n\n\n\nADR Exhibition – we will have our virtual room\n\n\n\nPresentation during the pitching session – Pavel Burget\, director of the RICAIP Testbed Prague at the Czech Institute of Informatics\, Robotics and Cybernetics CIIRC CTU will introduce the state-of-the-art infrastructure available for the ADR community.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe event will be organised in three main blocks.\n\n\n\nBlock 1: European Strategies in ADRThe first block of the summit will focus on Europe’s current position in the ADR industry compared to the worldwide landscape. Speakers and panellists will discuss the increasing competition among the leading countries\, and why AI\, data\, and robotics are essential in the European Union\, with a growing demand for intelligent systems across industries. \n\n\n\nBlock 2: ADR and Environmental IssuesThe second block of the summit will focus on the paradoxical situation that arises when we think about ADR technology and the environment. Experts will discuss the role played by ADR in environmental sustainability\, especially when considering the high energy consumption that is required to run these technologies\, as well as the battle being waged against climate change and how technology could play an important role in reducing carbon emissions. \n\n\n\nBlock 3: Public Involvement and Normative IssuesThe third block of the summit will focus on public involvement and normative issues. Discussions will revolve around the need for legal\, ethical\, and regulatory measures for ADR technology to ensure its ethical use and prevent misuse. The socio-economic impact of ADR technology will also be discussed\, including its potential impact on the job market\, especially for low-skilled workers\, the need for social investments and retraining programs to upskill the workforce and reduce the risk of increased inequalities. \n\n\n\nForesight Panel \n\n\n\nTo wrap-up\, a foresight panel based on the outcomes of the rest of the panels as well as on the Exhibition showcases will outline future promising paths for ADR and provide recommendations for R&D funding priorities. The Foresight Panel will support the creation of key takeaway messages to be broadly disseminated at the end of the Summit.  \n\n\n\n\n\nADR Exhibition\n\n\n\nIn addition\, several demonstrations of successful interaction between the three technologies will be shown in the ADR Exhibition which will give EC-funded projects and other initiatives the opportunity to showcase the technologies emerging at the frontiers of the disciplines to outline promising future paths for ADR by exhibiting demonstrations of interaction between at least two of the three technologies. \n\n\n\nRICAIP Virtual Booth

SUMMARY:RICAIP Training
DESCRIPTION:An approach for precise detection of uneven surfaces based on Best-Fit\, Iterative Closest Point and Angle Criterion methods\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nRegister here\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe Training/Tutorial will introduce an approach for precise detection of uneven surfaces of objects based on improved point cloud registration methods. The uneven surfaces are deviations between intended (target) and actual (real) geometries\, which inevitably occur during the primary molding process: casting. \n\n\n\nIn this training\, we will explore the approach that utilizes cloud imaging from both sanded (desired) and unsanded (real) objects to identify deviations from intended geometries. We will show how together best-fit and Iterative Closest Point methods enhance the accuracy of detection. And how Angle Criterion method implemented to filtered out the edge noises resulting from misalignment in the point cloud. We will cover also the transformation of the point cloud data representations of uneven surfaces between the camera and robot\, necessary for the sanding path planning. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAgenda\n\n\n\n\nIntroduction\n\nSanding process\n\n\n\nChallenge/Problem\n\n\n\nMain Contribution\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPrecise Detection of Uneven Surfaces: Overview and Concept\n\nBest-Fit Method for ICP initial transformation matrix estimation\n\n\n\nIterative ICP Method for Desired (what) and Real Point Cloud Registration\n\n\n\nAngle Criterion Method for removing edge noise point-cloud\n\n\n\nTransformation of the clean uneven surface point from Camera Coordinates System to Robot Base Coordinates System\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nEvaluation and Validation of the Concept\n\n\n\nConclusion\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSpeaker\n\n\n\n\n\nXiaomei XuM.Sc.RWTH \n\n\n\nResearch assistant at \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nContact\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nRegister\n\n\n\nTo ensure your attendance at the RICAIP Training on 12 June 2024\, please fill in the following information by Friday June 7th. \n\n\n\nWe will then contact you to confirm your participation and any details of the programme. \n\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n First Name\n \n \n Last Name\n \n \n Email\n \n \n Institution\n \n \nI have read and I agree to the processing of personal data as stated \nHERE \n\n \n\n Δ

SUMMARY:RICAIP Lecture: Prof. Wolfgang Wahlster
DESCRIPTION:RICAIP and CIIRC CTU | Czech Institute of Informatics\, Robotics\, and Cybernetics CTU in Prague in cooperation with the INPACE project are pleased to invite you to an insightful lecture by Prof. Wolfgang Wahlster on 27 May 2024 at 10:00 AM CEST. \n\n\n\n\n\n\nREGISTER HERE\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe lecture titled „Hybrid LxM Technologies: AI as a Booster for Industrie 4.0” will focus on the latest developments in industry and artificial intelligence. \n\n\n\nJoin the event onsite in Prague or online – link to the live streaming will be send to you also upon your registration. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nNo matter if you attend online or onsite\, please ask your questions to Prof. Wahlster through SLI.DO: #Wahlster2024 \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbstract of the lecture:\n\n\n\nIn the next decade of Industrie 4.0 a new generation of AI technologies will take smart factories to a new level. Large Language Models (LLMs) will be complemented by Large Process Models (LPMs) and Large Action Models (LAMs)\, so that generative neural models not only predict what to say or visualize next\, but also what to do next. \n\n\n\n\n\nBecause LPMs and LAMs are trained on data lakes of process specifications and action sequences\, they can predict which plan to take based on a given task and thus can execute the task from start to completion\, creating more agency and autonomy in smart factories. LxM technologies avoid the effort of manually coding active digital twins\, but are able to code a significant portion of them automatically based on neural transformers. \n\n\n\n\n\nAlthough deep learning is the most powerful learning method developed to date\, it has already reached its inherent limits in many industrial application domains and must be combined with various symbolic approaches in new system architectures. This leads to hybrid LxM (x=L\,P\, or M) technologies that use holonic multiagent architectures for combining neural approaches with symbolic reasoning technologies such as constraint solving\, physics-based simulation and terminological reasoning in knowledge graphs. \n\n\n\n\n\nWe present and discuss our new roadmap for the next decade of research and innovation for Industrie 4.0 from 2024 to 2034. Some self-appointed “experts” have proposed on the EU level the new term “Industry 5.0”. But this is neither necessary nor helpful as it wrongly suggests that the Fourth Industrial Revolution is complete. In addition\, the suggested “new topics” were already focus areas in the original specification of the goals of Industrie 4.0. \n\n\n\nBefore we conclude\, we will present two examples of LxM applications:  the recent DFKI spin-off company XPECT\, which combines process mining with execution and compliance verification\, and the latest version of AIQUAMA\, which uses neuro-symbolic methods for zero-error assembly in hybrid robot-human teams. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nRegistration Form:\n\n\n\nNote: The registration is needed especially for the onsite participation. If you register online\, we will remind you short before the lecture about its start and send you the direct link to the YT live stream. \n\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n \n\n \n\n \n\n \nYou register for:\nI will attend in personI will attend online\n \nI have read and I agree to the processing of personal data as stated \nHERE \n\n \n\n Δ \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nVenue:\n\n\n\nCzech Technical University in PragueCzech Institute of Informatics\, Robotics and CyberneticsTestbed Control Room\, ground floor\, Building B \n\n\n\nJugoslávských partyzánů 1580/3160 00 Praha 6 – Dejvice \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nProf. Dr. rer. nat. Dr. h.c. mult. Wolfgang Wahlster\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWolfgang Wahlster is a Professor of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and a pioneer of AI in Germany and Europe. SUMMARY:Sustainability and ESG reporting for manufacturing companies
DESCRIPTION:RICAIP is delighted to partner with the National Centre for Industry 4.0 (NCP4.0) together with Deloitte\, Siemens\, Česká spořitelna\, and T-Mobile at the workshop devoted to sustainability and ESG reporting as this obligation will gradually apply to an increasing number of companies. \n\n\n\n\nRead the article about the event\n\n\n\nGo to the NCP4.0 website\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAccording to recent data based on the NCP 4.0 Analysis of Czech Industry and current Deloitte research on sustainability in manufacturing companies\, top management is already asking a number of questions. From the relatively simple ones (Which department should the whole issue fall under?) to the more difficult ones (Where can we find the right people on the market?) to the complex ones (How should we collect data across the entire supply chain?). \n\n\n\nSooner or later\, the company’s costs will include an ESG reporting line item. Companies may be thinking that this obligation does not directly affect them… However\, it may affect their customers and clients. And by extension\, also the companies themselves. So it’s important to prepare for the new rules early and get to grips with the whole ESG reporting issue now. \n\n\n\n\n\nAt the conference\, the opinions of experts with experience from domestic and international projects will be presented followed by open discussion on the most pressing issues around this topic.Following perspectives will be tackled: \n\n\n\n\nlegal\, \n\n\n\ntax\,\n\n\n\nreporting\, \n\n\n\nfinancing\,\n\n\n\ndata management\n\n\n\n\n–> leading to recommendations on how to use ESG to company’s advantage. \n\n\n\n\n\nProgram\n\n\n\n12:30 – 13:00 Arrival of participants\, registration \n\n\n\n13:00 – 13:05 Welcome note \n\n\n\n\n\nPart I: WHY SHOULD WE CARE ABOUT ESG? \n\n\n\n13:05-13:45Summary of results from Deloitte’s research on manufacturing companies’ readiness for new sustainability rulesDeloitteThe current state of digitalisation of Czech enterprises in the context of sustainabilityNCP 4.0\n\n\n\n\n\nPart II: REPORTING\, TAXES AND LEGISLATION \n\n\n\n13:45- 14:25What is ESG and why do we need to address it?What are the implications of the CSRD requirements\, the carbon tariff or the new EU taxonomy? What impact can ESG reporting have on a company’s day-to-day operations?14:25-14:30Open Distussion\n\n\n\n\n\n14:30 – 14:40 Coffee break \n\n\n\n\n\nPart III: GOALS AND DATA MANAGEMENT – WHY COLLECT “SOME DATA FROM EXCEL” IS NOT ENOUGH? \n\n\n\n14:40- 15:25How do carbon neutrality targets\, e-mobility\, etc. come into play? How to ensure your data is traceable and auditable?Deloitte\, Siemens15:25-15:30Open Distussion\n\n\n\n\n\nPart IV: SUPPLY CHAIN AND USE OF COLLECTED DATA \n\n\n\n15:30- 16:25How to save yourself a few grey hairs (not only) in ESG issues with proper planning? What opportunities does ESG offer in supply chain management? How can we use the collected data to optimize production\, logistics and distribution not only for reporting but also for cost optimization?16:25-16:30Open Discussion16:30Guided tour of RICAIP Testbed for Industry 4.0\, CIIRC\, CTU

How can you make the most of your company’s existing potential? Visitors to the The Journey Towards Successful 21st Century Company exhibition\, which will be presented at the International Engineering Fair in cooperation with the resesarch workplace of the Czech Institute of Informatics\, Robotics\, and Cybernetics Czech Technical University in Prague (CIIRC CTU) – RICAIP Testbed for Industry 4.0 – and the ecosystem aroung the National Centre for Industry 4.0\, in particular companies Siemens\, T-Mobile\, Česká spořitelna\, DEL\, SICK\, and the European Innovation Community EIT Manufacturing\, will find answers to these questions. On more than two hundred square meters\, we will present solutions for efficient\, sustainable and innovative industrial production\, which no successful company of the 21st century can do without. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nMain Partners\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nInternational Partner\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPartners\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nDemonstrators & Stations\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nDigiStage Programme\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nVisiting RICAIP Testbed Brno\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTechnology Showcase: Real Demonstrators\n\n\n\n\n\n\nFlexible Modular Production\nSecond-life BatteriesThe intelligent robotic system is able to autonomously disassemble several types of electric batteries. This is a demonstration of flexible manufacturing that easily adapts to product change. The robotic and other programs that perform a given manufacturing task are not fixed\, but respond to changing conditions. The movements of the robot are assigned based on the ontological description of the different batteries. The robotic cell is a functional demonstration of flexible modular production within an autonomous factory\, where one of the two collaborative robots represents a stationary workstation and the other robot represents a mobile production cell that flexibly expands the capacity and possibilities of production. The exhibit presents a demonstration of a sustainable solution: the refurbishment of batteries from electric vehicles on a scale model. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nMonitoring of Consumption\nCloser to efficiency and sustainability: real-time monitoring of energy and compressed air consumption. \n\n\n\nMonitoring operational efficiency in technical installations is becoming increasingly important. In addition to measurement\, fast data transfer to a data platform or IoT cloud for analysis\, correlation and optimization is crucial. We are presenting two options at the fair: the use of the IoT cloud for sensors and the comprehensive T-Data Platform. The latter processes different types of data and allows access via communication interfaces such as MQTT or OPC UA\, which are then available for machine learning. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSimulated line in VR and virtual commissioning (digital twin)\nSecond-life BatteriesThe real robotic battery disassembly line has a digital twin\, thanks to which the same operations can be simulated and operated in virtual reality via a single MES control system. Thanks to the digital twin of the robotic cell in virtual reality\, production can be planned and adapted to changes. In the so-called virtual commissioning mode\, different production scenarios can be tested without any intervention in the real operation and thus prepare or react to future changes and production needs. The virtual line is also controlled by a virtual PLC. The system is connected to the edge device and common operating parameters are displayed in real time. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nRobotic Mobile Tapping System\nDo you remember last year? We had a robotic beer dispenser at our booth for the first time. This year will be no different. This is a demonstration of an intelligent collaborative robotic system. Data collection of energy and water consumption for a given volume of beer on tap is done in real time to a centralized data platform via a specially developed application. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAR Training Workplace\nHigh quality and trained employees who are able to work with new technologies are essential for success. Training employees on new technologies\, assembly or equipment is done using mixed reality (MR) to help with step-by-step manual operations. This helps the worker to learn the workflow better and faster. The efficiency of the training is increased with the help of holographic instructions that are linked to the workplace. The HoloLens connected to the real robot line system over a 5G network can control the robot or display operational data. Practical applications include training workers or assisting them in controlling the robot. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nIndustrial 5G SA Network\nThe industrial 5G network\, which is also installed at the stand\, offers high security in addition to speed and enables full transmission of data from the PROFINET and PROFIsafe industrial communication protocols used in production for further use. For the first time\, we will introduce the 5G IoT Gateway\, which allows us to connect the sensors we have installed on the robots and collect additional data from the machines\, such as energy consumption\, compressed air\, vibration and more\, to the data platform. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n5G IoT\nRICAIP Testbed for Industry 4.0 is an innovative modular 5G IoT Gateway for communication in 5G SA networks. This device can be considered more than just a router due to its expandability with additional modules with different inputs and outputs\, including analog and digital\, and special or custom communication modules. Among these modules you will find\, for example\, a four-port switch that facilitates the connection of other Ethernet devices in the local network. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nConsultancy and Financial Assistance\n\n\n\n\n\n\nDigital Audit for Companies\nDigiAudit helps you get a baseline of where you stand with digital. DigiAudit is an analysis of your company’s activities from different perspectives and levels of digitalization\, whose unique methodology we have developed and tested with the needs of small and medium-sized companies in mind. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nContact Point | Česká spořitelna\nConsultancy and opportunities for innovation funding GrantikaThanks to the involvement of Česká spořitelna\, trade fair guests can learn about financing options on site. Representatives of the savings bank will show model examples of financing specific technologies directly at the stand. Representatives of Česká spořitelna plan to provide interested parties with comprehensive advice aimed at strengthening the efficiency and competitiveness of companies. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nContact Point | EIT Manufacturing\nSupport to SMEs and Start-ups: \n\n\n\nEIT Manufacturing is Europe’s largest innovation network for manufacturing\, bringing together industry leaders from business\, academia and research. It is supported by the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT)\, a body of the European Union. \n\n\n\nEIT Manufacturing\, is based on a strong community and aims to support the transformation of globally competitive and sustainable manufacturing. EIT Manufacturing is based in Paris\, France and has a network of innovation centres across Europe: Vienna (Austria)\, Darmstadt (Germany)\, Milan (Italy)\, Gothenburg (Sweden)\, San Sebastian (Spain) and Athens (Greece). The aim of Researchers’ Night is to dispel myths about scientists as people locked in laboratories and to show the general public that they are “ordinary people” who do work for each of us\, they can present it in an engaging way\, and they can also have a good time.

SUMMARY:Women in Tech: The Gender Algorithm
DESCRIPTION:Ambassade de France and Institut Français de Prague\, RICAIP Centre together with CIIRC CTU and La French Tech Prague jointly invite you to “Women in Tech – The gender algorithm” event. \n\n\n\nOn-site (registration from 16:00\, start at 16:30) and online (the direct streaming will start at 16:30 on our webpage)  \n\n\n\n\n\n\nOFFICIAL WEBSITE OF THE EVENT\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nRead the Article about the event\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nRegistration\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nDigital technologies are one of the most powerful drivers of structural changes in the economy and society. The health crisis has reinforced their role and made it more obvious that Europe in general has a lot of catching up to do. However\, the place of women in these key technologies for the future of our societies remains very low.  \n\n\n\nThe gender gap in the job market is glaring\, especially in the European Union. Worse\, the proportion of women in digital jobs is not increasing and remains below 20% in Europe (17% in France; 10% in the Czech Republic). The ratio of investment in start-ups also remains largely at the expense of women start-up project leaders (90/10).  \n\n\n\n\n\nHowever\, everyone agrees that greater diversity is necessary\, for social and economic reasons\, but also to allow the sector to benefit from a richness of approach and creativity born from the diversity of profiles.  \n\n\n\nWhy are women so poorly represented in the sector? Their supposedly lack of interest in scientific disciplines is regularly pointed out\, particularly in mathematics and computer science. At school and then in higher education\, the figures are particularly frightful\, especially in France. In fact\, young girls suffer from the prejudices surrounding these disciplines\, which are considered masculine\, as well as from the lack of role models in the economic and academic world.  \n\n\n\n\n\n\nhttps://youtube.com/watch?v=ziFvv72Xn3Q\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWe would like to contribute to the discussion on these topics\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTo continue to raise public awareness on the subject\, particularly by highlighting existing and developing good practices;\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTo set up concrete actions to contribute to the evolution of the situation\, especially for the youngest girls.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nProgram\n\n\n\nLanguage of the event is English \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n16:00 – 16:30Arrival of participants\, registration \n\n\n\n16:30 – 16:45 Welcome – French Embassy\, CIIRC CTU & RICAIP Centre \n\n\n\n\n▶️Watch the recording on YouTube\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n16:45 – 18:00 \n\n\n\n\nPannel I: Schoolgirls’ EducationChoice of Pathways to University | Research Careers\n\n\n\n\n▶️Watch the recording on YouTube\n\n\n\n\nModerator: Aleš Vlk\, experienced consultant in R&D and Science policy\, Vice dean for external relations UK FTVS (tbc) \n\n\n\nSpeakers:Karima Boudaoud\, Professor of Informatics at the University Côte d’Azur\, Member of the Board of Femmes et Science\, Member of the Board of EUGAIN \n\n\n\nBarbora Bühnová\, Professor at the Faculty of informatics\, Masaryk University\, co-founder of Czechitas \n\n\n\nIsabelle Collet\, Professor of Education at the University of Geneva\, specialist in the inclusion of women in the digital world \n\n\n\nMarta Musilová\, Policy analyst at Dept of Gender Equality\, Office of the Government of the Czech Republic \n\n\n\n\n	\n \n \n \n	\n \n \n\n\n \n \n Karima Boudaoud\n \n \n \n\n	\n \n	\n \n \n\n	\n \n \n	\n\n	Karima Boudaoud\n\n\n	\n “You have to live your dreams so you don’t lose sight of them.“	\n\n \n	\n \n \n \n \n \n WiT_Barbora_Buhnova_web\n \n \n \n\n	\n \n	\n \n \n\n	\n \n \n	\n\n	Barbora Bühnova\n\n\n	\n “The prompt snowball effect helped us to build a community around the joint vision to empower and encourage girls and women to engage in computing education.”	\n\n \n	\n \n \n \n \n \n WiT_Isabelle_Collet_web\n \n \n \n\n	\n \n	\n \n \n\n	\n \n \n	\n\n	Isabelle Collet\n\n\n	\n “Girls have the same skills as boys.
