The Brno University of Technology (BUT) is the largest technical university in the Czech Republic. It is one of Europe’s elite technical and research universities. BUT has a vibrant tradition and was founded in 1899. The university consists of 8 faculties and three university institutes. It covers a broad range of technical science. It is one of the major research institutions in the Czech Republic with more than 2000 Ph.D. students and 1000 academics staff.

Central European Institute of Technology is an independent institute at the Brno University of Technology. CEITEC BUT constitutes a world-class research infrastructure. It provides state-of-the-art equipment and ideal conditions for basic and applied research in engineering, advanced nanotechnologies, microtechnologies, advanced materials, cybernetics, and robotics. CEITEC also includes research for artificial intelligence, smart sensors, signal processing, and mobile robotic system. Other fields are telepresence, embedded systems, communications technologies, advanced control technologies, their industry applications, and more.
