RICAIP Organizational Structure

RICAIP is a new international distributed research centre with a maximum degree of autonomy that is hosted at CIIRC CTU with direct participation of all other parties. RICAIP is established as a new autonomous centre at CIIRC CTU that is under supervision of the scientific director in the CIIRC organisational structure. RICAIP is executed by the RICAIP Director and supervised by the Steering Committee (SC). The CIIRC Director and the CTU rector are bound to the resolutions of the SC related to RICAIP.

The executive level is represented by the Executive Board (EB) and the RICAIP Director.

The operational level includes several departments supporting both the executive level (e.g. administration, project management office, etc.) and the scientific core (research groups, RICAIP Industrial Testbed Core).

The advisory level is represented by the International Advisory Board of CIIRC CTU, the Scientific Committee, and the CIIRC Committee. The CIIRC Committee was established to supervise the scientific and economic independence of RICAIP. The CIIRC Committee consists of five members (three representatives from the Czech government and two CTU deans) and serves as the mediation, advisory and supervisory body of CIIRC CTU.

The RICAIP Steering Committee (SC) is the highest RICAIP body. It ensures that RICAIP’s purpose and objectives are maintained, that RICAIP develops effectively and successfully, and that its financial management is sound.

In addition, the SC also sets the directions for RICAIP’s activities and decides on the concept and strategy for its development including new consortium members. Decisions of the RICAIP Steering Committee are binding upon the parties to the agreement.

The RICAIP Executive Board (EB) proposes the directions for RICAIP’s activities, approves RICAIP’s budget and its modifications and the medium-term outlook for RICAIP’s budget, approves RICAIP’s annual report and makes proposals for changes to the arrangement of the RICAIP consortium.

The EB members are responsible for the implementation of RICAIP’s strategy and the decisions taken by the Steering Committee.

The EB supports RICAIP by fulfilling the obligations to the European Commission, managing and supervising the scientific and technical progress in RICAIP.

The EB is responsible for coordinating various educational activities, training and dissemination.
