The establishment of the RICAIP Centre is the main objective of the RICAIP Project that received funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 (No. 857306) and from the ESIF OP RDE (CZ.02.1.01/0.0/0.0/17_043/0010085).
Financing for 2019-2026
The EU Horizon 2020, national and ESIF investment funding secured the start-up phase of the RICAIP centre. RICAIP focuses on competitive European schemes and further funding opportunities. In that way long-term sustainability of the Centre can be assured.
Total amount: 48,25 mil. EUR of which:
European Union’s Horizon 2020 programme (H2020 Teaming Phase 2): 14,99 mil. EUR
European Structural and Investment Funds (ESIF), Operational Programme Research, Development and Education (OP RDE): 33,26 mil. EUR

The ESIF OP RDE project complementary to the H2020 Teaming Phase 2 Project
The main objective within this financing is to acquire infrastructure and upgrade equipment carried out at both CIIRC CTU and CEITEC BUT. Both nodes of the distributed testbed will be fully integrated and connected to the already built German node in Saarbruecken – a joint testbed of DFKI and ZeMA.

EU Horizon2020 Teaming Phase 1 Project
The goal of the RICAIP Phase I project (Grant agreement ID: 763559) from Sep. 2017 to Aug. 2018 was to develop the fundamentals for establishing the Research and Innovation Centre on Advanced Industrial Production as the Centre of Excellence for Industry 4.0. Especially for multi-site industrial production and multi-site production system development, which aims to change industrial research in a more interdisciplinary way, bringing excellence and new solutions to the sector. The entire work performed in Phase I led up to the preparation of a proposal for ESIF/OP RDE national complementary funding for the Czech Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports and the Final Business Plan, which were necessary in order to apply to the RICAIP Phase II call. At the same time, optimal organizational and legal frameworks were explored to set the Centre as an autonomous entity hosted by CIIRC CTU.
