The International Engineering Fair (MSV) in Brno has come to a close, marking a significant event for us at RICAIP. This year, our joint booth with the National Centre for Industry 4.0 provided a platform to showcase our initiatives and engage with a diverse audience. We want ot reflect on a week filled with inspiration, innovation, and fruitful collaborations.
Noteworthy Visits
One of the highlights of our participation was the visit from Petr Pavel, the President of the Czech Republic. He toured our booth, where we showcased a demonstration of flexible manufacturing and the renowned Robobar. During his visit, he also received our latest publication from NCP 4.0, “Industry 4.0 – The Basis of Economic Transformation in the Czech Republic,” to which many of our researchers contributed. The publication outlines critical recommendations for achieving digital transformation.
We had the privilege of presenting our booth to a government delegation led by Prime Minister Petr Fiala. Earlier on the same day, we were honored by the visit of another distinguished group, including representatives from the Confederation of Industry and Jan Grolich, the Governor of the South Moravian Region.
Presenting Innovations
A major highlight of our participation was the DIGINOVATION conference, held on the second day of the fair. Our experts contributed significantly by presenting the latest projects and innovations in artificial intelligence and industry. Key presentations included:
- Ondrej Beranek, who highlighted how the AI-MATTERS project opens doors for companies to access the infrastructure and services of testbeds.
- Pavel Burget, who showcased revolutionary technologies, including applications of AI in precision agriculture and robotic tap systems for the gastronomy sector.
- Matěj Sulitka from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering at CTU, who discussed the potential of AI to improve the efficiency of machining tools and the educational opportunities offered by EIT Manufacturing.
Throughout the week, we also had the opportunity to highlight our projects and initiatives in our joint booth. On Thursday, our team took to the DigiStage, where we presented a session on how testbeds are driving competitiveness within the Czech industry. Our panel featured several key experts:
- Ondrej Beranek opened the session by discussing the support available for small and medium enterprises through the AI-MATTERS network.
- Pavel Burget, the Director of RICAIP Testbed Prague, shared insights into our infrastructure and the services we provide.
- Pavel Václavek from RICAIP Testbed Brno discussed the opportunities for technology development in the Moravian metropolis.
- Robert Keil, Director of the National Centre for Industry 4.0, moderated the panel and on behalf of the Ostrava testbed, presented FEI VSB-TUO.
Engaging with the Public
The feedback we received from our booth visitors was truly positive, underscoring the significance of our work and the potential for future partnerships. Our researchers dedicated their time and expertise to engage with a diverse audience, including industry experts, esteemed guests, schools, and enthusiastic individuals passionate about what we do. Each interaction provided invaluable insights, helping us better understand market needs and how we can continue to innovate our offerings.
Additionally, we hosted the RICAIP WorkshopSpace, an interactive experience where attendees could explore cutting-edge technologies. Guided by experts from RICAIP Testbed Prague, the Czech Institute of Informatics, Robotics and Cybernetics (CIIRC), the Czech Technical University in Prague’s Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, and Siemens, participants had the opportunity to immerse themselves in a variety of workshops on topics such as industrial metaverse, digital twins, 5G IIoT and many more.
