Robotics and automation are transforming the way industries operate, and behind these advancements are experts like Tomáš Jochman. As Team Leader at RICAIP Testbed Prague, he plays a key role in bridging research with industrial applications. His expertise spans robotics simulations, virtual commissioning, and additive manufacturing, making him a driving force in developing advanced solutions for modern production challenges. In this short video interview, Tomáš shares insights into his work and his work plans for this year.
Tomáš Jochman leads projects focused on robotics simulations, virtual commissioning, and automation. At RICAIP Testbed Prague, part of the Czech Institute of Informatics, Robotics and Cybernetics at CTU in Prague, he collaborates with researchers and industry partners to develop and implement new robotic technologies.
His role includes programming industrial robots and PLC systems, designing robotic workspaces, and integrating safety features into automation processes. He also specializes in optimizing components for industrial 3D printing, ensuring that additive manufacturing can be effectively applied in production environments.
A significant part of his recent work involves Meltio 3D printing technology, a method that enhances additive manufacturing by allowing for greater precision and flexibility in industrial applications. His research helps refine the process, making it more efficient for manufacturers looking to adopt 3D printing at scale.
For Tomáš, innovation is not just about new ideas, it’s about making technology work in real-world settings. His team focuses on practical applications, ensuring that robotics and automation solutions are not only advanced but also viable for industry use. Whether refining production lines or testing new automation methods, his goal is to bridge the gap between research and practical deployment.
