International Engineering Fair Brno MSV 2023

October 10, 2023 | 08:00 October 13, 2023 | 17:00 UTC+1

RICAIP is one of the main partners and technology drivers of the joint booth together with the National Centre for Industry 4.0 and its partners. This years’s main topic is “The Journey Towards Successful 21st Century Company” within the Digital Factory section.

RICAIP will showcase its role as the innovation infrastructure provider for manufacturing together with the National Centre for Industry 4.0 and key technology partners, including Siemens, T-Mobile, DEL, SICK, Česká spořitelna and also EIT Manufacturing. A real robotic demonstrator on flexible modular production developed by RICAIP Testbed Prague will be the core of the exhibition accompanied with several supplementary demonstrations of the use of newest digital technologies. There will be also accompanied programme in a form of transport to and guided tours in the RICAIP Testbed Brno for those interested.

Place: Hall F, Stand 201: Digital Factory – Exhibition Grounds Brno
Date: 10 – 13 October 2023 | 9:00 – 17:00

The need to go digital is clear, but how to do it? How can you make the most of your company’s existing potential? Visitors to the The Journey Towards Successful 21st Century Company exhibition, which will be presented at the International Engineering Fair in cooperation with the resesarch workplace of the Czech Institute of Informatics, Robotics, and Cybernetics Czech Technical University in Prague (CIIRC CTU) – RICAIP Testbed for Industry 4.0 – and the ecosystem aroung the National Centre for Industry 4.0, in particular companies Siemens, T-Mobile, Česká spořitelna, DEL, SICK, and the European Innovation Community EIT Manufacturing, will find answers to these questions. On more than two hundred square meters, we will present solutions for efficient, sustainable and innovative industrial production, which no successful company of the 21st century can do without.

Technology Showcase: Real Demonstrators

Flexible Modular Production

Second-life Batteries
The intelligent robotic system is able to autonomously disassemble several types of electric batteries. This is a demonstration of flexible manufacturing that easily adapts to product change. The robotic and other programs that perform a given manufacturing task are not fixed, but respond to changing conditions. The movements of the robot are assigned based on the ontological description of the different batteries. The robotic cell is a functional demonstration of flexible modular production within an autonomous factory, where one of the two collaborative robots represents a stationary workstation and the other robot represents a mobile production cell that flexibly expands the capacity and possibilities of production. The exhibit presents a demonstration of a sustainable solution: the refurbishment of batteries from electric vehicles on a scale model.

Monitoring of Consumption

Closer to efficiency and sustainability: real-time monitoring of energy and compressed air consumption.

Monitoring operational efficiency in technical installations is becoming increasingly important. In addition to measurement, fast data transfer to a data platform or IoT cloud for analysis, correlation and optimization is crucial.
We are presenting two options at the fair: the use of the IoT cloud for sensors and the comprehensive T-Data Platform. The latter processes different types of data and allows access via communication interfaces such as MQTT or OPC UA, which are then available for machine learning.

Simulated line in VR and virtual commissioning (digital twin)

Second-life Batteries
The real robotic battery disassembly line has a digital twin, thanks to which the same operations can be simulated and operated in virtual reality via a single MES control system. Thanks to the digital twin of the robotic cell in virtual reality, production can be planned and adapted to changes. In the so-called virtual commissioning mode, different production scenarios can be tested without any intervention in the real operation and thus prepare or react to future changes and production needs. The virtual line is also controlled by a virtual PLC. The system is connected to the edge device and common operating parameters are displayed in real time.

Robotic Mobile Tapping System

Do you remember last year? We had a robotic beer dispenser at our booth for the first time. This year will be no different. This is a demonstration of an intelligent collaborative robotic system. Data collection of energy and water consumption for a given volume of beer on tap is done in real time to a centralized data platform via a specially developed application.

AR Training Workplace

High quality and trained employees who are able to work with new technologies are essential for success. Training employees on new technologies, assembly or equipment is done using mixed reality (MR) to help with step-by-step manual operations. This helps the worker to learn the workflow better and faster. The efficiency of the training is increased with the help of holographic instructions that are linked to the workplace. The HoloLens connected to the real robot line system over a 5G network can control the robot or display operational data. Practical applications include training workers or assisting them in controlling the robot.

Industrial 5G SA Network

The industrial 5G network, which is also installed at the stand, offers high security in addition to speed and enables full transmission of data from the PROFINET and PROFIsafe industrial communication protocols used in production for further use. For the first time, we will introduce the 5G IoT Gateway, which allows us to connect the sensors we have installed on the robots and collect additional data from the machines, such as energy consumption, compressed air, vibration and more, to the data platform.

5G IoT

RICAIP Testbed for Industry 4.0 is an innovative modular 5G IoT Gateway for communication in 5G SA networks. This device can be considered more than just a router due to its expandability with additional modules with different inputs and outputs, including analog and digital, and special or custom communication modules. Among these modules you will find, for example, a four-port switch that facilitates the connection of other Ethernet devices in the local network.

Consultancy and Financial Assistance

Digital Audit for Companies

DigiAudit helps you get a baseline of where you stand with digital. DigiAudit is an analysis of your company’s activities from different perspectives and levels of digitalization, whose unique methodology we have developed and tested with the needs of small and medium-sized companies in mind.

Contact Point | Česká spořitelna

Consultancy and opportunities for innovation funding Grantika
Thanks to the involvement of Česká spořitelna, trade fair guests can learn about financing options on site. Representatives of the savings bank will show model examples of financing specific technologies directly at the stand. Representatives of Česká spořitelna plan to provide interested parties with comprehensive advice aimed at strengthening the efficiency and competitiveness of companies.

Contact Point | EIT Manufacturing

Support to SMEs and Start-ups:

EIT Manufacturing is Europe’s largest innovation network for manufacturing, bringing together industry leaders from business, academia and research. It is supported by the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT), a body of the European Union.

EIT Manufacturing, is based on a strong community and aims to support the transformation of globally competitive and sustainable manufacturing. EIT Manufacturing is based in Paris, France and has a network of innovation centres across Europe: Vienna (Austria), Darmstadt (Germany), Milan (Italy), Gothenburg (Sweden), San Sebastian (Spain) and Athens (Greece). In the Czech Republic, EIT Manufacturing is represented by a hub within the CIIRC of the CTU. For Czech companies and start-ups, this network offers in particular the opportunity to collaborate with innovators across Europe, support the internationalisation of innovation and the possibility of funding proof of concept in international projects.
