As 2024 is slowly approaching, let us look back at some of the successful and happy moments of the year 2023 for RICAIP Partners, which all brought new ideas and opportunities.
RICAIP Testbeds
NEW VIDEO ON RICAIP CONCEPT OF DISTRIBUTED MANUFACTURING
To successfully showcase the distributed manufacturing within RICAIP project, our team prepared this new video including a presentation of RICAIP testbeds and more details about their collaboration.
LIVE DEMONSTRATOR – CIIRC 10th ANNIVERSARY
In June, CIIRC CTU celebrated ten years of activity (est. 2013). The RICAIP Centre enriched part of the celebration programme with a presentation of distributed modular manufacturing and a live demonstrator of the remote control system connecting testbeds in Prague, Saarbrücken, and Brno.
Czech TV live broadcast from RICAIP Testbed Prague
On 12 December, the Czech Television’s popular journalistic discussion program “Fokus Václava Moravce” was broadcast live from the RICAIP Testbed for Industry 4.0 at CIIRC CTU in Prague. This time on the topic “The Rise and Fall of Intelligence”.
High level visits
Visit of European Science Advisors & Diplomacy Coordinators
In May, a delegation of European Network of Science Advisors and Science Diplomacy Coordinators from European Ministries of Foreign Affairs visited RICAIP Testbed for Industry 4.0 in Prague after they visited two of the main Czech centres of excellence
Visit of the Czech Deputy Prime Minister for Digitisation
In January, Deputy Prime Minister for Digitisation and Minister of Regional Development Ivan Bartos visited RICAIP Testbed for Industry 4.0 in Prague, after discussing topics related to the construction industry, such as the building permitting process or digitalisation of construction procedures, within an initiative of the National Center for Industry 4.0.
Visit of MEMBERS OF THE US Office of Naval Research (ONR)
In May, RICAIP Testbed for Industry 4.0 in Prague hosted a US delegation led by the Chief of Naval Research Rear Admiral Lorin Selby, an iniative of the Central and Eastern European ONR Global regional office. The US and Czech participants discussed current and future scientific challenges in artificial intelligence and robotics.

USE-CASES WORKSHOP
In November, the 4 RICAIP partners met near Nuremberg to discuss the details of the main RICAIP use cases’ key features. The workshop included a discussion on the review results, presentations of each testbed’s demonstrators, and discussions on common understanding of distributed production and key modules, as well as their applications within RICAIP.
Synergic projects
Start of synergic projects using RICAIP infrastructure
- EDIHs (EDIH DIGIMAT, EDIH CTU, EDIH SAARLAND – now completing RICAIP synergic EDIH CITAH)
- TEF (AI-MATTERS) – As CIIRC CTU hosted the 2nd AI MATTER consortium meeting, the partners visited RICAIP Testbed for Industry 4.0 in Prague.
Events and Conferences
Presentations at international fairs
Brno MSV Enginering Fair 2023
RICAIP Teams from CIIRC CTU and CEITEC BUT both had the opportunity to discuss and share RICAIP latest research results within the Brno MSV Fair. The Prague team was present on a booth shared with the NCP 4.0 and other partners, while the Brno team offered tours of their nearby testbed.
